The Dollywood Dish – Gyro

IMG_6151.jpgGyro’s are a new thing for me to want. I never cared about them, until I had one from Yassin’s Falafel House in Knoxville, TN. Now, if I see one on the menu, I make it a point to try it. When I saw that Dollywood had one for Festival of Nations, I knew I was going to try it.

The stand has The Gyro in both lamb and chicken, as well as a Mediterranean Salad served in a bread cone. (I can’t wait to try that one).

I ordered my gyro and when I recieved it, the pita wasn’t folded. I thought that was odd. Well, I just folded it myself. The Pita was a little dry and cracked open on me. Not a huge problem, but it was dry.

The meat was absolutely delicious and piping hot. The Tzatziki sauce was nice and cool, and tasted homemade. I was pleasantly surprised with the gyro! It’s a must-try.

The Gyro is located at Market Square in Rivertown Junction and is $6.99.
